Maths

What's this about?

Could you see yourself writing algorithms to solve a problem?

Would you like to calculate the risk of a ship sinking for insurance purposes?

Would you like to analyse large amounts of data to enable the government to make decisions about future housing needs?

Most jobs require us to use some maths. However, there are some jobs where you will be using maths more often.

For example if you like using numbers you may like a career in accountancy, banking or finance. If you enjoy maths and a science subject you may consider engineering.

There are lots of opportunities to use maths in computing. Lots of people go to work in cyber security and also in analysing data and information. Maths is also important in a range of other areas such as architecture, engineering and scientific research.
