University partners
Join a successful collaboration of universities providing cost-effective careers resources to mitigate risks linked to APPs, through the award-winning (CDI) Careerpilot platform
- Careerpilot has over 540,000+ users on the site each year
- 360,000 students have their own accounts - which creates data on their career choices
- 48% are from TUNDRA Q1 and 2 and 33% from IMD Q1 and 2.
Our current Careerpilot subscribers include universities, Uni Connects and Careers Hubs.

Your university or Uni Connect can become a subscriber too and join this successful collaboration:
A university, or a consortium of universities in your area, or a Uni Connect can join the successful and impactful Careerpilot collaboration which has, since 2011, provided cost-effective, award-winning careers information, advice and tools to support young people - 11 - 19 - in getting to know themselves, their options and in making informed progression decisions about the many routes into higher education.
Becoming a subscriber to Careerpilot means you will be helping to mitigate 3 specific risks to equality, identified by the Office for Students:
Risk 1: Skills and Knowledge,
Risk 2: Information and Guidance,
Risk 3: Perceptions of HE.
Careerpilot supports young people to make well-informed career progression decisions whilst also developing skills of self-efficacy, self-reflection and research - which evidence shows, supports attainment.
The site has considerable reach, with 48% of the users being from a TUNDRA Q1 or 2 postcode.
Survey evidence from 1000s of student users of Careerpilot users shows the site helps them to:
- Understand more about the range of options;
- Learn that degree level could be a choice for them;
- Feel more able to make decisions and feel better about their futures.
The survey also show that using Careerpilot helps them achieve outcomes that link to the three risks.
Providing free access to Careerpilot also helps your local schools to deliver an excellent careers programme and to meet the Gatsby Benchmarks.
There are two subscriptions on offer - full or partial:
- Full subscription (£8K per annum for a large university)
- Partial subscription (£5K per annum for a large university)
Full subscription:
If a university/Uni Connect chooses to subscribe to a full subscription, the full Careerpilot package, which includes a Student, Adviser, Parent and Reporting Zone and a Pathway Planner triage tool, can, through your subscription, be made freely available to 30 or more schools in your region. If you are working in collaboration with other regional universities who subscribe, then Careerpilot can be provided to all schools across a bigger region, as we do in the South West.
As part of a full Careerpilot subscription, a university will also access a range of services which include:
- Access to data on students’ choices, interests and progression plans through the Partner's Reporting Tool;
- Pages within the Adviser Zone to promote WP activities to school/college staff;
Partial subscription:
If a university chooses to subscribe to a partial subscription then they can offer free access to the Careerpilot Student and Parent Zones only to all school/students in their local region. Students will be able to set up free accounts to build their career report and attach their account to their named school. Schools wishing to access other parts of the Careerpilot platform will be required to pay a small, annual subscription fee.
Both subscription package will also include:
- A summary with outputs and outcomes that can be included in the APPs to show how Careerpilot can mitigate key risks, and how evidence of impact will be evaluated through student voice, specifically for:
- Risk 1: Skills and Knowledge,
- Risk 2: Information and Guidance,
- Risk 3: Perceptions of HE.
- Inclusion of your institution as a funding partner on the home page, your own pages in the Provider Search Tool and links to some of your courses embedded across the site, linked to subjects students love, etc.;
- A Careerpilot 'site' named for the subscribing university that can be used as part of all WP/outreach activities. This will enable a WP Team to use the full Careerpilot package in their own activities and to enable students to add their accounts to the university's Careerpilot account - allowing access to student data on next step choices.
- An annual report to evidence the impact of Careerpilot against the identified risks and outcomes, through student evaluation;
- Training for WP/outreach/Uni Connect teams and free access to training webinars for regional schools.
