What's it all about?

Day to day tasks

During a session, you might:

  • discuss a client's symptoms and their wider life
  • explain remedies to clients
  • choose, prepare and give homeopathic remedies
  • keep client notes
  • offer help with lifestyle issues and everyday stresses
  • encourage clients to keep in touch with healthcare professionals
  • business administration, if self-employed

Working environment

You could work in a therapy clinic, from home or at a client's home.

You can get into this job through:

  • a university course
  • a course run by a private training organisation

You could take a qualification recognised by one of the professional organisations for homeopathy, like a degree in homeopathy.

Courses take 3 years full time or at least 4 years part time. All recognised programmes include supervised practice.

If you're a qualified healthcare professional like a doctor, nurse, dentist, pharmacist or midwife, you could take a postgraduate homeopathy course approved by the Faculty of Homeopathy

Entry requirements

You'll usually need:

  • 2 or 3 A levels, or equivalent, including a science, for a degree
  • a degree in a relevant subject for postgraduate study

You could study for a homeopathy diploma with a private training college. You'll usually need:

  • a desire to help others
  • relevant life experience
