These introductory-level courses have been
specially designed to help you find out what it’s like to study at a
higher level, get a taste of a subject area, develop your learning
skills and build your confidence. They are aimed at new learners with
little or no knowledge or experience of studying.

There are there are four different access modules to choose from:

Arts, and languages Access module

Business and law

Psychology, social science and wellbeing

Science, technology and maths

Where could I study?

These are offered by the Open University so
you study in your own time and in your own space, but throughout you’ll
be supported by experienced tutors and a range of learning materials.

How long will it take me?

Modules
start in October and February each year. Places are limited – so to
guarantee your place you need to apply early. These modules are studied
over a period of 30 weeks and during that time you should expect to
spend approximately nine hours per week on your studies.

Options after the course?

The
Access Modules earn 30 credits but these cannot be used to gain access
to an OU course, as the modules are designed to be stand-alone tasters
to help adults find out what HE is like. However, when you have
completed the modules you will be well prepared to apply for a higher
education course either with the OU or at a college or university.

</xml>
